My career as a professional interpreter and translator
As for my education, I’ve got a Master’s Degree in English-Spanish-English Translation and Interpretation, in addition to a degree in Linguistics with a Major in Translation.
Professionally speaking, I have more than 18 years of experience in the field of translation and interpretation and I have had the pleasure of working with important national and international organizations and companies such as the UN, WHO, US Embassy in Quito, GANHRI, British Embassy, Ecuadorian Government and its agencies, General Motors, Charles Darwin Foundation, Pfizer, Jansen, Tunacons, Lowell Mineral Explorations, among others.
I am fluent in both languages and have traveled extensively to English and Spanish speaking countries, which has allowed me to learn a great number of regional linguistic variations (dialects) and customs of these areas. I have a thorough knowledge of the grammar of both languages and, my experience, has allowed me to master technical vocabulary in the fields of Medicine, Biology, Finance, Technology, Education, Administration, Social Sciences, Linguistics, Oil and Mines, Cement, Coaching, among others.
However, my field is not limited to professional translation; I have always loved standing in front of a classroom.
This has allowed me to teach Translation and English courses at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and English at the International University of Ecuador.
In addition, since 2016, I started working with Loyola University, New Orleans, as Resident Director and Teacher of the LOYNO – PUCE exchange program.
